Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Before I start, I just wanted to acknowledge the wit in my title of this post! It made me laugh a lot!

Anyway, the sunny days keep approaching, which is the most wonderful thing in the world, however as it's becoming vest top and skirt weather, I have definitely realised that hair is a big no no! No longer can I use the excuse of having an extra layer of insulation!

The hippy look is very on trend at the moment but I'm not sure it can be pushed as far as free growing body hair unfortunately!

So, for the first time in a long time I decided to purchase some new razors! Ps. Crikey at the cost of razors these days!!! So, I opted (because I had to...) for a cheaper Boots brand that looked as though they had quality Venus elements! And they were in fact very impressive: my legs were left silky smooth! I finished off by ex-foliating with some Soap and Glory and body creaming it up- feeling smooth and smelling good too (at least for the time being!)

The Straw Diet

I am back! I think after going so long with blogging I owe an explanation to all of my fans (mum, nana and Aunty sue!) I have been on placement for forever, being an actual real life teacher! I had a Year One class and when I first found this out I was very scared: a whole class of 5 and 6 year olds that would be running around with snotty noses and wetting themselves...

Yes, Yes, Yes to all of the above, they did run around, they did have snotty noses, they did wet themselves BUT in actual fact they were all incredibly cute by the end!

Now I have the joy of being back at Uni, and after only being back a week, another dental emergency evoked! I did the best I could with a tube of anaesthetic cream and high dosage of extra strong paracetamol + ibuprofen, however not even the super dental skills of me or tabby could resolve this. I will not go into all the gory details, but it was not looking good! Only two weeks ago I was telling the children if you look after teeth they will be healthy but no no no! Even though I brush, floss, mouthwash (and the purple Listerine mouthwash too! Not just any old one!) I have been informed that my teeth are pretty rubbish thanks to genetics (And my addiction of chocolate and all things sweet!)

I have been advised to drink juice through a straw to avoid the sugar attacking my poor defenceless teeth! So I thought I could eat chocolate through a straw to avoid the sugar invasion also! There are two ways of doing this, neither of which are time effective!

 1. Keep sucking through the straw until chocolate melts itself and comes through (very unlikely to be successful!)

2. Break chocolate into lots of little pieces. By the time you get through a couple of squares the chocolate does not seem to be worth the hassle! If I could only eat chocolate (or all food for that matter) through a straw, then I would be a very streamline woman! The straw diet, could it be the next fad?

You can never be too old...

For some love from your Mumma! A lovely mothers day weekend in yorky York spent with everyone's favourite Mumma Voce!

A trip to York theatre to see the sound of music for a bargain price, £5 each ticket (I know you shouldn't say the cost of gifts but it was just such a bargain find!) trying not to sing at the top of our voices as lady next to us  was looking a little glum! It was a very very good show, but Captain Von Trapp was no Christopher Plummer: a little too camp and perhaps a little too old, giving a slight feel of inappropriateness with the ever so young looking Maria! His boots were also not a good look, perhaps didn't help that knee high leather boots over jodhpurs have been a popular trend amongst the ladies lately!

We carried on the evening at ASK restaurant which is the most magnificent building! We shared a delicious pizza and chips and salad and we couldn't even finish it! Which we usually could! The gin did definitely get finished though! We couldn't even squeeze in a dessert! Most unlike us!

Mum was going early the next morning (well she was meant to but I'll come back to that later!) so I took full advantage of the car and we did an Asda shop! Sadly, I am no longer a sainsburys snob as Asda is full of so many bargains! I was happily stocked up and we treated ourselves (and the rest of my lovely housies) to some delicious yum yums! That were just so yum! I remembered that mum had said I looked slimmer earlier on on the day, so thought I could defs afford to eat not one but two yum yums! I wouldn't want to waste away now!

We retired to my bedroom and watched the last 2 episodes of Sex and the City (as carrie is in Paris... not long now!!), snuggled up together! All was lovely until the floor started to pulsate and a sudden blast of techno dub step hip hop music riffled through the walls! Wonderful- the next door neighbours we never speak to had decided to have one of their all night house raves- we were most disappointed to not have had an invite! Luckily mum was in a good frame of mind that 'it's a Saturday night and students should be having fun'. She then went into depth about all the parties we've had! The millennium party where the firemen came was defs a highlight, moreso for her than me at the time as I was only ten and too young to appreciate the beautiful men in uniform! Anyway, this all night rave lasted nearly all night, hence why we overslept and she set off late! But a lovely weekend with of course the greatest mum in the world :) xxxxxx
